It's All Natural

Amid a lot of deadlines recently I managed to squeeze in a trip to the Trafford Centre with my mum where I bought this gorgeous necklace from Topshop. It is made out of a real shell and shaped like a bottle, with a faux silver stopper. I am in love with the natural trend in jewellery for this Spring/Summer and I think this will add a little interest to a jeans and t-shirt outfit.

I was also really lucky to receive a present from one of my mum's best friends this week who has been like an aunty to me my whole life. She has such amazing taste in jewellery, I knew it would be something special. The pendant is solid sterling silver, with what I believe is a blue lapis stone in the middle. It is a lovely heavy piece, and quite abstract, which makes it a real one of a kind. It was made in Sweden and the U9 hallmark on the back means that it was made in the 1970's. There is a lot of blue lapis and imitation lapis available on the high street at the moment which I love, but I am so happy to have this special, unique piece. It is always a great feeling, knowing you are wearing something you most likely will never see on anyone else. I am still trying to find out who the maker is, the maker's mark looks like a y and then an upside down r. I will keep you posted if I find anything more out! I am going to wear it out tonight as I off to the theatre to see "To Kill a Mocking Bird" and I can't wait. That's what you get for being an English student!
